January 10, 1969. Comedian Soupy Sales takes the most unlikely job in basketball — manager of the Harlem Globetrotters, for a CBS television special. This is the actual publicity photo from that day: the whole squad huddled around their new manager, game faces on, playing the bit completely straight.
